WELCOME TO THE KANSAS CITY BLADES TRIBUTE SITE!
The Blades may be gone, but the memories live on. Thank you for checking out the site and expressing interest in Kansas City hockey!
ABOUT THE BLADES…
They were part of KC’s pro sports scene during the 1990s. The team brought hockey back after an 11-year absence. They won the Turner Cup in 1992. The Blades served as the minor league affiliate to the San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks during parts of their run. On June 4, 2001 the International Hockey League folded, and so did the Blades.
KC HOCKEY HISTORY
There have been many pro teams in KC, dating back to the 1920’s. Want to learn more? Check out Kansas City Hockey History. I also run that site. It has pages devoted to EVERY player who has worn a uniform for a KC pro team, from the Pla-Mors to the Mavericks. (All Blades player pages are hosted here on KCBTS: Kansas City Blades Tribute Site, though.)
HALL OF FAME VOTING
Kip Miller is the new Blades Hall of Fame inductee for 2023. Here is a link to the new poll, 2024 Blades Hall of Fame Poll.
HOCKEY CARDS
I have hockey cards listed for sale on COMC, check out my store AGOIN1976.
VIDEOS
I have posted a handful of Blades videos/clips on YouTube. The channel name is KCBladesTributeSite, if you’re going straight to the website or app. Or you can access the videos through the new page, Videos.
SITE UPDATES
MORE TO COME…
I’m working on putting together pages for each season that would give a run-down, highlights, and pictures of that season. (I’ll need help for seasons between 1990 and 1994) I am also hoping to add an index of Blades hockey cards, possibly expanding that to any card that a Blades player was on. I have tons of ideas, hopefully at some point I’ll have time to implement them. If you have comments or suggestions, let me know at kcblades@att.net
IF YOU’D LIKE TO HELP ME OUT…
If you have information or pictures you’d like me to share on my site, e-mail at kcblades@att.net.
